Did the 2015s come with FOB remote start standard? I dont see any mention of it in the manual. I tried starting mine this morning using the FOB and was surprised it started.

No remote start capability via my '15 FOB...I use the Lexus Enform Remote app...
The Lexus Enform Remote "LER"became standard for all 2016 Lexus models and most 2015 sedans with Navigation.
It can not be retrofitted to the OP's 2014 but there is the Lexus Remote Engine Start "RES" and also "RES+" which
were Port or Dealer installed modules. RES uses the factory fob for an 80" range and 10 minute run time by pressing
the lock button three (3) times quickly and holding the third press. Plus versions add a phone app with 12 months free
and then a subscription. tboo72 apparently has this option, a bit of research into the service history and original Maroney
stick would clarify if it is the Lexus original option or other aftermarket that uses the Lexus fob.
Ive been using the phone app or Alexa all this time to start my LS. It was just one day I decided to try the 3 presses of the lock button and low and behold the car started. I still hate the fact that it shuts off as soon as I unlock the door.

I wonder if it's to make sure you have the key before you drive off. I also wonder if you remote start the car while sitting in it and drive off will it shut the car off 10min down the road?
The key fob cadence is the same for the current Lexus Enform Remote LER that is free for 12 months and
the Lexus Remote Engine Start RES that cost $500. The difference is that when the LER trial period ends
the fob stops working while the installed RES module keeps working.
Press the fob "lock" button three (3) times quickly and hold the third press until you see the outside lights flash.
Press/release/press/release/press/hold There are then three (3) ways to shut it down: 1) wait 10 minutes, if
you get distracted it will not run endlessly, 2) Press and hold the fob "lock" button to shut it off before 10 minutes.
3) Open any door, shuts off so you do not asphyxiate your family while loading up.

My car has RES and not RES+. So, I am SOOL with using the Enform App to start my car. That would have come in mighty handy with the imminent Polar Vortex.
As for the start sequence with the key fob, I used to do exactly the sequence highlighted above. Then, I learned that the third press does not have to be long or held until the lights flash. I just press three times less than a second apart, and the car starts. I discovered this in a mall parking lot when I pushed the lock key one too many times, and the car started!
