Default 2018 ls500l

Do they still make the LS in the LWB version or the LS 500L like my LS 460L? Are you required to buy the LS 500h to get the LWB?

The LS500 (gas or hybrid) comes in only one wheelbase, which is slightly longer than the 460L. So the vehicle is huge, yet the interior is not as spacious as the 460L, especially for rear passengers due to the low roofline.

I recently experienced this first hand. Setting the driver's seat to my liking, the LS 500 rear seat definitely has less legroom than a 460L. It is a head-scratcher why Lexus did that -- the opposite of efficient packaging.

I think the front seats were pushed back in the LS500 due to the strongly raked front windshield, eating into the rear legroom. Definite head scratcher: Bigger dimensions all around compared to the LS460L, yet the passenger seating volume is reduced. Just feels very confining in the back seats compared to the 460L.

I was at the lexus dealer getting a new fob battery and I saw two ls500's there and a issue I haven't heard mentioned yet is how bad of a finish they applied too it.

Its orange peel city, definitely hasn't been cut and polished or color sanded which I belive the 430 and 460 were

It has the worst finish ive ever seen on any LS even a 400

I got both 2014 LS460L and 2018 LS460. My 2014 got way more legs rooms front and back. But i like the twins turbo on 2018 😁

They're all long wheelbase, no more SWB. Interior room though is more similar to the 460 SWB vs the 460 LWB though. Its because of the mid engined layout, the LS500 is technically front-mid engined, the whole engine sits behind the front axle.

Thats odd, all the LS500s I've seen have the same quality finish as my LS460s have had.
