Default LS Owners, Your Thoughts on the Genesis G90

I wanted to get some thoughts of current LS owners on the flagship Genesis G90. I test drove the twin turbo V6 model a few months ago and was really impressed. It reminds me a lot of the LS.

I haven't driven one or sat in one - if I was shopping I'd go look at it because I've heard many great things on here and am intrigued. But... I'd have to get used to the exterior styling- something about the styling doesn't promote "flagship" to my eye. It's the front end - and I can't put my finger on it but it just doesn't look great to me. I think the Kia Cadenza looks more premium from the front. I saw an Equus on the road the other day and that really looked like a flagship design- very reminiscent of an S class in certain angles. I should go drive one for kicks one day.

That’s so funny to hear because I absolutely love the exterior styling (lol). The chief designer of the G90 came from Bentley so there are some cues there. If you can, drive the V8 model. I think you’ll be impressed. I will be in the market for a new to me car in a few years and I’m seriously thinking of buying a lease back V8 model.

I was with my brother at the Hyundai dealership a year ago when he was buying a car. I sat in the G90 for the first time, liked it - and liked it quite a bit.
A month later I purchased my 460, and I love it.

The G90 is a very impressive vehicle. I had a chance to test drive the V8 and its awesome. Personally the G90 drives and handles much better than the '10 460 I own. Everything was just impressive about the G90 but I'm just not impressed with the new LS 500. The new LS have lost some of its class.

I drove a 2017 G90 and have a 2011 LS. To me, handling, ride and lack of road noise was identical. These cars have a lot of similarities. Maybe it just comes down to individual asthetics. I wonder if the quality and long term reliability of the G90 can match the LS?

Wow, bold statements. I also own a 2010 460 (LWB). It doesn't shock me that a car would "handle much better" than the 2010 460. But it is somewhat surprising to hear it "drives much better". I think I need to go drive one to see for myself. I've owned an LS400, LS430, and now the LS460 and the only thing I don't love about the 460 compared to the other two is the engine noise. If that's different on the G90 and the G90 engine feels & sounds like the 400 and 430 of old it would open my eyes quite a bit.

I really like the exterior styling from the rear and the side. Plus I love the interior (although I have only seen it in pics and occasionally peeking in as I walk past one). It's just the front that I struggle with. I'm going to find some time to go drive one soon. I have no intention of buying anything but am intrigued enough to go drive it.

Default My thoughts on Genisis G90

I am on my second LS, a 2004 and a 2012. Greatest cars ever. Always looked forward to driving them. Purchased a 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe limited ultimate for my wife eleven months ago. Was actually shopping for a Highlander and/or an MDX, got diverted and bought the Hyundai. What a great, great vehicle. I am a car guy and came to gradually realize this. In retrospect I think it was a better purchase than the Highlander or MDX. In short it made me a Hyundai fan.
i would definitely shop the G90 for a replacement vehicle. I think the G90 will get better each year. It's new with a lot of room for improvement and growth. I like the V8 and don't like that the LS no longer has a V 8.

I think a fully loaded Genesis G90 V8 Ultimate HTRAC is a great value for the money. Sadly, the car was more than a year from being debuted when I bought a fully loaded 2014 460L AWD in 2016. I would have had to wait about two years before I could have bought a year-old 2017 car for a great price. I wasn't willing to wait. For example, here's a 2018 fully loaded V8 AWD G90 with 2800 miles and rear DVD players and reclining power seats for $60K.

Some of you may recall that RiknChar traded his 2008 600hL for a G90 last year, and traded right back to a 2010 600hL a few months later. You can read about his experiences on the threads below.

I love the G90, I think it's what the LS500 should be. I thought it was easily the nicest car at the Boston's auto show last February. Speaking of the LS500, does anyone actually own one of these things yet? I have seen one on the road near me and it looks terrible in my opinion...like a Maxima on steroids.

A friend end of mine just leased a Genesis G80...pretty nice car in its own right. Reminds me of the LS460 a little bit. He has the 3.8 V6...says it has plenty of power. You can pick up a low mileage 2015 for around $22,000 right now. I'd call that a bargain.

I was in the market for a LS recently and I really like the G90. I prefer it over the LS in some ways and I think my next car will likely be 8 cylinder G90 or later model LS460, etc if I don't get a coupe or sports car.

The G90 compares very well to the LS, it’s very similar, clearly that’s not an accident haha.
