Need info ASAP re: acoustic windshield
This is 100% accurate. I looked into this before in relation to my Toyota Sienna. The fist year the Sienna had an acoustic front windshield,on the limited trim at least, was 2013 which was a plus when I was comparing the 2012 vs 2013. It is supposed to reduce outside noise. Now whether one can tell the difference outside of the labratory, probably not given the collection of noises coming into the cabin.
Because thats the purpose of an acoustic windshield, if you read any of the literature about what that part does or why its included on cars its for noise reduction. On the Jeep Grand Cherokee for instance, only Summit models get the acoustic windshield along with additional noise reduction measures, active noise cancellation, etc.
Your question is like asking "how do you know the wheels are supposed to turn?

My aftemarket windshield like all others is laminated glass. Unless the “acoustic” part of the description refers to weather conditions like heavy rain, sleet, hail or some such other conditions or maybe a combo of those conditions and high speed the windshield under normal conditions exhibits no noises
anyone know for sure?
Either the acoustic part of the design is not normally noticeable or that my previous owner installed aftermarket windshield has it in it’s design would be of mild interest. The difference in the tint and possible heat gains resulting are of much more personal interest.
the aftemarket definitely does not have the light gold oem tint in it.
Looking at lexus’s 2018 model page picture the slight gold color to the glass is visible in the photos.
need anyone heating feedback....
