My previous 460 averaged 16 in the city, md 20's cruising around 80mph on the highway. I used either Techron or BG44K after every oil change (to help me remember) and never had an issue. The other thing that can affect gas mileage is crappy gasoline. My friend had a complete fuel system failure after buying gas at a Woodmans gas station- stay away!

I replaced plugs at 60k service with factory bc I took it to Lexus. Did not notice any difference afterwards on mileage

I use Shell or Exxon premium always. No non name brands. It is more expensive, but rather safe than sorry.

hope you see some improvement cuz gas just keeps getting higher.

Good luck.
You need to come to the FW side of D/FW!

I commute 60 mi/day, and I get about 21 MPG out of my 2008 L. There's at least two full-throttle acceleration "events" per tank, too. Sometimes just 10-50 MPH, sometimes a much larger span than that.

Also, being from Dallas, myself, west of the Dallas/Tarrant county line is a much better place to be. :-)

Finally, it's not uncommon to encounter 85-90 MPH traffic on my commute, both morning and afternoon. Seriously.

Last Saturday, my 27 mile commute took 20 minutes, flat. Even Monday and Friday are rarely longer than 33-35 minutes unless I wind up in the heart of rush hour.

I replaced the 118K mile plugs a couple of weeks ago, and I've yet to see any change in MPG, but I didn't expect much. On a road trip, at 80 MPH, A/C on, you should see upper-20s. I've gotten 30 from both here to Austin/San Antone and here to Houston, both times the speed of traffic was 80-90 MPH.

You've gotta love an 8 speed transmission with a 2.94 final drive. 80 MPH = 2K RPM

Can't speak to the city mileage - I get a little more - maybe 18+ but your highway mileage is definitly low. I get 28-30 mpg on a 500 mile trip at 80-85 mph.

The 2007 plugs were rated at 120,000 miles. The 2008+ changed to 60,000 mile for some bogus emissions reason only Lexus and the EPA know!

You do not need to wedge the engine over to remove the spark packs. They come right out. Trust me I not a pro and I did the denzo plug change. I felt no difference. You will need a ratchet extension and a ratchet angle extension bar socket adapter because of the angle. Be careful you don't lose the spark plug rubber seals.

It was a pain to change spark plugs but it was because I didn't remove spark plug gaskets. I didn't know what I was doing. It was my first time and took me 2 days researching youtube videos and clublexus articles. Please see the link and the youtube video. I thought I had the gasket removed, no, it was not removed. spark plug tips Once the gasket is removed, you don't need to move the engine. The spark plugs come out.

Spark plugs are cheap $7.08 for Iridium TT. ebay The seller has many sales and good ratings.

On the other hand, I am getting kinda off topic. On bad ebay sellers.
I came across a seller who sold me Denso O2 air/fuel sensor. There was no anti-seize grease, no instruction, and the box label was removed. The seller said he got it from an auto liquidation pallet. If you received something like that, it is not genuine Denso parts. The genuine Denso part should come in Denso box with the part number not removed, anti-seize grease, instructions. That is for O2 sensors.

The spark plugs on the other hand, came with nothing. You have to buy anti-seize grease
amazon link Permatex anti-seize amazon link Permatex anti-seize

I would change the spark plugs every 95K or 100K miles especially they are cheap and it is an easy change for me now the 2nd time around.

I have always gotten about 16 mixed driving in the city. Yesterday i did my first road trip in the car with normal traffic and averaged 28mpg for the 200 mile trip.

According to the car my MPG is 11...... that is horrible. I did reset the trip meter each time I fill up so I guess I can fill it up to max... read the trip meter and do some math, I shall post back later.

For the MPG calculation, the car uses a different distance measurement than the odometer that is displayed in the dash. The distance measurement for the MPG calculation is affected by the car's tire size and tire wear. A calibration process is provided to enhance the accuracy of the calculation.

Wow it is even worse than I expected something must be wrong some place maybe filters or something:

22/07/18 - used about 4 lines/ filled full tank about 26.99 L at 32.49 UAH/L = 876.91 UAH. 95+ .
Mileage 87466 Miles . Trip 66.3 Miles. = 107km
107/26.99 = 3.96 km/l
MPG = 9.49

But nothing else is wrong?

It's not filters. Sounds like catastrophic oxygen sensor failure, but you'd have warning lights for that.

Now...what kind of driving are you doing? How much sitting in traffic or just not moving? Do you use this car for a passenger service, where it sits and idles for hours per day?
