I feel this deserve its own thread. I want to save people hours or days. I spent last 2 days changing spark plugs. I guess it's an initiation for me as a new owner of a 131K miles, 2007 LS 460. my intro

I changed the engine oil, spark plug and cleaned the MAF sensor. Thanks for this link.

I spent hours using crow bars, tire iron moving engine a few millimeter, if at all. I even saw the youtube video below too for tips.

Here's what I found out. There are 2 seals. I had to make sure the 2nd seal was removed. Once I removed the 2nd seal, the spark plugs and coil went in and out with out any issue. No crow bar needed.

A few of spark plugs were heavily drenched in engine oil. I am changing the valve cover gasket and spark plug tube seals.

That's a good deal I found. For comparison, another ebay seller wants $7.28ea, not for whole 8 seals.

More things to be done:
I am waiting for someone to tell me where PCV filter is in another thread. I looked for it and thought it was the one on the valve cover. No. I removed the tube and it looked nothing like it.

I am definitely changing the transmission fluids. The previous owner had been serving his car at the dealer but I did NOT see any transmission fluid or spark plug changes up to 133K miles. Unbelievable. Lazy dealer.

Did you unplug the module on the driver's side by the firewall or can you simply unbolt it and set it aside?

Should have searched and read a little more, I know this is documented here somewhere because I knew this going into a spark plug job within the last 1-2 months. Did them all and had everything back together in 1.5 hours.

However, see this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls-...eplacment.html where Chris (roadfrog) stated: "NEW INFO: Recently it was noted that another option to using a pry bar, is to simply remove the rubber gasket surrounding the coil packs. This allows just enough room to get the coil pack out easier. To remove the gasket, there are slots in them that allow to insert a screwdriver and pry it off."

If you have enough room to pull out spark plugs and coil, then there's no need to move the ignition module. But it's very easy to unbolt 3 bolts and move it aside.

Carefully loosen the 2 white fasteners underneath the connectors. Once loosened, the connectors can be gently pulled out underneath.
