When I start my 2007 LS I can not set anything on the screen for at least 1 min. Also my car the resets at 75 degrees. I like to keep it at 71, Is any of this normal?
Perfect, I would take it back there and ask them to check the cabin filter. Mine did the same thing after I changed it, mine wasn't broke but the filter wasn't seated right and caused the same problem. A little adjustment and it worked fine.
Thanks guys I will check the filter when I get the chance. Now I know it's no normal. Do you think the resetting the heat temp to 75 by it self falls under the same problem?

I wouldn't touch if I were you. Since the dealer did it, I would have them fix it. If you foul something up, like checking the filter without the a/c in recirculate, they're going to blame it on you.
I just bought the car. Lexus changed all the filters, oil, front brakes, rotors and more. I assume they know what they are doing.
Know how to know for sure ? Open the glove box, (remove shelf if you have one) pull back the little cover so you can see where the air filter goes. Turn the car on and put the A/C in recirculate mode, IF the door opens, it's something else (possibly a filter seating issue). If the door does not open, you have the problem I listed. Someone forced the door open.
New to you car ? No question I would bring the car back and have them fix it. Otherwise, it's about a 1 to 2 hour job to do yourself (unless something physically broke but, normally it's something that just popped off)

lexman52 - Don't take mine and Chaos's reply personally. As I have worked for 2 OEM's in my past. The most recent was Hyundai-Kia. The lunacy and criminal activity that take place at a car dealership makes Las Vegas casinos look like a daycare facilities. Maybe a Lexus dealer might be better ... maybe. I have my doubts, but I don't know for sure because I do my best to ... STAY AWAY. Any dealership is my last resort. This is my personal opinion. Others may not share it.

Ah yes, the infamous ..."cabin air filter mis-installed, now the HVAC is dead for a minute" problem. Coincidentially this HVAC issue didn't appear until after the dealer replaced the sticky dashboard (still waiting for parts to replace the front door interior panels) on my 2007 LS460 - 99K miles. The filter & associated mechanisms are fine but the "lead tech" at the dealership says this known HVAC issue is due to a failing wiring harness. $900 will make it right again. For that I can handle pushing the "Auto" each time. Interestingly it isn't each time. Only if the car has been powered off for about 30 minutes or longer. I wonder how the wiring harness "knows" this.
Editorial: In my opinion the quality of service (and attitude) from Lexus has deteriorated substantially in the last few years. Yes, of course it could be that I have come to expect excellent service and now that I and my car have aged a little, that expectation is not as valid. Also, having a JERK for a service manager doesn't help. I don't remember having to argue, finesse or arm-twist as much in the past.
Finally, as I get ready to trade the LS, I believe a Tesla model S is in my future. I fly when going to far off places so range anxiety is not an issue. This is not a once in a lifetime decision, of course. It can always be traded for a Lexus product. Cheers.
