going through our new to us 2008 LS460 and I have some worn/damaged interior parts. Car is 10 years old and shows a lower outside edge drivers seat cushion and ribbing in the leather.
The “b” pillar drivers side shows multiple “gouges” in the vinyl where the seat belt may have struck it during retraction although the depth of the gouges seems more than a belt might do.
passsenger seats bottom cushion leather is ribbed also.
I noticed both my aftermarket windshields on our LS and sc are more white glass versus the oem side and rear windows.
found an old post from the “Lexus lady” who used to answer questions here quickly that mentioned the 90% UVA and UVB and 60% infrared reduction in the factory glass.
Is an oem windshield have the same light gold tint like the side windows do?
love any source other than the dealer for these parts or repairs?
cannot find the exact part number and cost for a new lb” pillar interior cover in dark grey

Well I have a factory windshield and I can tell you it didn't make any difference/improvement on my interior wear. Everything that your interior suffers from mine does too, along with my driver's side arm rest worn right through, center console leather all wrinkled and worn and steering wheel leather worn as well. I kind of look at it like...well it's eleven years old now, what are you going to do? The interiors don't hold up in these cars, there's too many soft surfaces and delicate pieces of leather. Oh and the wood grain on my door panels also have hairline cracks in them.

When I was searching for an LS, I noticed this too on several models for sale. I could never figure out what caused it. I just assumed it was a pet that scratched the area...but it was present on both B-pillars! I noticed on our 2013 LS, the seatbelt can become wedged between the B-pillar and the front seat's side-bolstering and leave a deep divot in the side-bolster and/or B-pillar if you're not careful when using the seat memory. Such a poor design oversight. However, these divots are different than the cuts and gouges I saw on 2007-2012 LS B-pillars. Still a mystery what causes that.
^^ Women with bling on their jeans (back pockets), work out tights / shorts with zippers in the rear, co-workers with pens in their back pockets, etc. - yes, all can cause tears, rips, gouges, wear spots, etc. in various places... first hand knowledge... (smh)
Ah, I see. I am not questioning any of this, but I am struggling to imagine the scene. My rump has been accused of being in the way several times but even I never make contact with the B-pillar when getting into any car for decades. The front seat must be pretty far back or some passengers or they must like to back into doorways and openings, lol.
Edit: The jean bling does remind me that the owner of a 2011 LS did happen to be female, the daughter of a Subaru dealership owner. Both B-pillars on that car had cuts and probably from diamond-encrusted denim. Makes me wonder though, wouldn't those embellishments also rip up the seat bottoms pretty good? Yet the front seats looked unscathed.

It’s the seatbelt metal insert piece near as I can figure. My interior guy has a guy that he says can repair my door panel and the b pillar
got my new drivers seat cushion in from Atlanta. Will get my buddy to put it on then his buddy to work on the door panels and sest covers and console cover.
