thats a great idea... now how to do that effectively is the key

Sadly the plastic is too brittle at the edge...the pry tool is plastic so it's ok. One thing I have to say is the clips retention force is great...little bit too much for this issue.

Mine cracked on a 70 degree day. Think the dashboard expanded and caused it to crack, That was before the dash was replaced. I found a good used one on ebay for $100. All i had to do was swap the nav screen. Easy job. So far now 2 years later no new crack.

Be careful prying out the Radio & Nav with the trim pry tool. The surrounding areas of the dashboard can crumble. Then you have another eyesore to look at.

Default Awesome

Great work, so glad I found this. I have absolutely identical issue + the flaking off directly above the volume **** and recently I was thinking how to take on something like that. I’m happy it didn’t require any disassembly.

It looked like a time consuming project but, MUCH better than paying $800+ for a fulll navi head !
Do you happen to know what this plug is for? I know it plugs into the bottom climate control unit but what does it control? Im curious because if the big harness that is plugged in is that powering only the climate control? I know the climate control also is built in with the passenger airbag off/on circuit board. I hope you can answer me. I will attach a photo
