Interior B Pillar trim getting nicked and snagged
#31
Thats not a bad deal. The old style B Pillar looked worse after a few years. Like you said you don't notice them much but i just wanted to replace them with the new design. I was luck i found a set on ebay for just under 300. I have a post on here with photos.

My 2015 with only 8k miles had the same problem. The vinyl on the B pillars is very easy to damage. I fixed mine myself with some leather/vinyl repair stuff I got on Amazon. Since my interior is black, it wasn't hard to make it disappear.

After reading this thread I noticed some nicks in my B pillars on my 2013. Don’t think I would have noticed otherwise so thanks all for bringing this to my attention! I mentioned it to the dealer last month while I was still within the original 4 year warranty period and they replaced both at no cost to me. Looks like they got the part covered under warranty and ate the labor cost. I mentioned the TSB to the service advisor fully knowing it did not apply to this model year but maybe that helped my case a little.

Unusual for it to be under the original warranty I know. The in service date was mid 2014, so maybe one of the last 2013s sold new. I wasn’t fully aware when I was shopping for a cpo that the two year cpo warranty does not start until the new car warranty expires. Something to consider when comparing cpo prices. Also had the warranty work done by a dealership that didn’t certify and sell me the car which may have been to my benefit.

I bought some fabric at a discount fabric store ($10) and contact cement ($15) and fixed my driver side b-pillar (Gray Alcantara). I followed an upholstery youtube video. See before and after pics.
I have extra fabric if someone close to me (San Francisco) wants to get it done too. DM me if interested.
