Default 2013 LS 460 interior trim cracks

Does anyone have issues with interior trims by the door handles and by the center gearbox console cracking? Seems like the top glass-like pieces have cracks.

Any chance these are covered under mftr warranty?

My center wood piece cracked by the cup holder. They replaced it but said they would only do it once even though I really didn't drop anything on it or cause the cracks.... Hopefully it doesn't crack again!

If its still under the 5/50 new car warranty, they should replace any wood trim that has cracked.

Interesting... There was a TSIB on this for 2007-08 (maybe some 2009 too) models: crack on wood trim adjacent to the cup holder. Sounds like back to square one with the redesigned trim, though hopefully it's an isolated incident.

These are the cracks by the door handles.

If one dealership denies service, take it to another. Some dealers suck that way.

Yikes! Those look terrible and definitely appear to be stress related from poor fit of the trim piece (not unlike the "original" issue with the console trim on early MY LS460/600s).

In your photos, Khánh, I see some small dents on the metal trim and could see a less-than-helpful dealership trying to link the cracks to some sort of impact in that area. However, that doesn't hold water - not from looking at the pattern and location of the cracks (vis-a-vis the dents) AND given that jasone36 has the exact, same issue. I would expect a good dealership to address this.

I also see there are dents in the metal trim on the door below the wood trim. Those dents come from smacking the seat belt buckle into the trim. Could that have caused the cracks as well? If I were Lexus I'd say so.

Call Lexus Corporate. Send them the photos. That is unacceptable.

I will call the dealership where I bought the car from and will find out. The car is CPO and is still under manufacturer warranty.

Come on guys. We all love lexus cars. But really. Is this the fault of craftsman ship? The car will not stay new forever. Is it really lexus fault that something happens to your car ?
This almost looks as bad as blaming lexus your paint doent look as new as you bought it years ago. Is is lexus fault you got swirl marks or a scratch. It's a used car. They don't stay new forever.
It's a 3 year old car...... Mark it up to character and move on.

Sorry to sound so negative. And I really would like my car would too stay nice forever. But it's just a car. It gets used. Things will happen. If these are the problems we have to deal with when owning a lexus. I can handle them. Sure a lot better than electrical gremlins and mechanical issues every 5k miles like most ultra luxury cars in this segment.

Unsober, I agree with your broader point. This damage, however, unless actually caused by some sort of accidental impact, does seem like a heck of a lot more than just wear or "character". The fact that there were similar issues with wood (and other) trim in earlier model-year LS460s (documented via TSIBs, etc.), only raises flags even higher.

Again, no disagreement on your fundamental premise; this does seem a bit different, though.
