Plastic Door Trim Problem
Fellas:
I know this has been discussed here, so maybe you can direct me where to go or offer a solution:
The plastic trim on the bottom of my driver's door is coming off and it hangs a bit and looks crappy.
Dealer quoted me $450 to replace that whole lower part of the door and it would have the trim.
Does anyone know if I can just buy the trim and if so, how do I install it?
What is the best solution?
Hoping for a low cost way to correctly solve this disturbing and unsightly problem.
Many thanks,
Ted

If so, I ordered both sides, from Carsons Toyota around 4 months ago
22.00$ each side,
Part #'s
75735A front passenger Door
75736A Driver's Door.
They also come painted to match your car... although I havent had a chance to install them on my car yet...

This has been an issue several GS's, mine included.
Here is a link that discusses the issue a little bit more. Door Molding
An easy DIY project.

thats great man- cheap too. i think i might pick those up if they really do come color matched...my fix is holding up but id rather just have new.,....anyone know if these are still available in DWP (1998 GS400)
I FREAKIN LOVE THIS SITE!!!!!!!!!!!
once again, just casually reading and I run across a thread that pertains to my ride as well.
Mine looks exactly like the picture above. I've got a temporary piece of duct tape on the inside part of the trim and door holding it in proper place.
I'm calling Carsons tomorrow.

Everyone:
Thanks for the help!!!
Thats the kind of solution I was hoping for.
I'm calling Gordon tonight and getting it for both doors.
I assume I just peel off the existing trim and stick the new one on. Is there more to the install?

and for the install... I havent done mine yet but, it looks like you have to take the door panels off to get to the screws, I think there are 3 or 4 screws
