Default Revised control arms?

Just read a post here implying that the 2013 LS460 has revised control arms/bushings:

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...fix-my-ls.html

I've seen several conflicting statements regarding this - did Lexus revise this part of the front suspension for the 2013 model year and, if so, are these revised parts compatible with the 2007-2009 cars?

Thanks.

From what I read it's a bit of a mystery when they changed the rubber in the control arms. It somehow coincides with the TSB but it doesn't mention clearly which cars.
Some seem to think it was around 2010 while others think it was late 2011.

I did a little investigating and it's not definitive but I think if you have a 2011 or later car you probably have the revised control arms.

Go to this site, punch in your year and see if you have this TSB (L-SB-0021-12)

https://www.alldatadiy.com/TSB/31/11312927.html

The TSB is no longer present in 2011 and later.

Look at the bolts on the control arm that bolts to the knuckle. There are 2 on each. If you can see more than 2-3 threads beyond the castle nut then it's revised if the bolts are short and you can only see a couple of threads then they are the old ones

No need to access the actual TSB. They will show you all the TSBs for each year with a brief description however you will have to pay to access detailed information for that TSB. The TSB wil probably l state that customers were noticing a knocking sound that is attributed to worn bushings and the remedy is a new set of control arms.

Which ones specifically. The two upper control arms or the lower control arms.

Upper. I don't think they revised the lower.

Thanks for that information. Have you compared the difference between the two shafts from the old and the new off the car side by side? Was the length of the shaft longer in the then the old one?
Or does the thread extend lower?

I did not. The dealer did the work under warranty. I noticed the difference when I put my wheels on. They worked perfectly fine on another car that had the old control arms. On my car the inner barrels rubbed it.

I just went to a Lexus dealer for a quote on my control arms . She told me that she just quoted a 08 LS 460 for the same job. My car is a 07 LS . Northside Lexus in houston wanted $6500 for the job. We went over all 8 control arms part numbers. The last two were 2013 control arms and they were the lower.

It's not hard to replace them yourself if you have any kind of mechanical know how.

Default they might be the same number..

I was told that they are all new and revised from the original... you would think they wouldn't be silly enough to replace such expensive parts ( many done at Lexus' expense) with the same faults in place
