RCA Aux Input in center console

RCA Aux Input in center console
How can I get my Aux input to work? I hooked up my ITouch, IPhone and Ipad VIA the 30 pin and/or lightning cable to RCA cables (Yellow Video, Red and White audio) in my center console. I know the cable works as I can plug it into my TV in the house and it works and plays video just fine. When I pug it in and turn on a movie, the Aux on my touch screen is still grey.
Am I missing something?

I use an RCA to 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, daily, to play music from my MP3 player.
When you want the RCA jacks as your input, just press AUX, and there y'go.
BTW, this car remembers what volume setting was last used on each input, regardless of if you've changed inputs 50 times or if you haven't used it for a month.
Neat, but it can very definitely be a surprise with the ML system, as that system has the ability to make a person deaf.
Not that this is a bad thing, if you use it correctly.

Hey thanks but I don't have an AUX button anywhere....I can only select 'video' on the rear screen in the roof by using the remote control.
If I get an RCA to 3.5mm jack.....where will the music come out, if at all?

Oooooh, hadn't thought about non-North America vehicles having different radio controls, though I know frequencies differ around the planet.
So, on the center stack, you don't have this:
