Toby does still sell them for $69 shipped. I ordered one and will let you know how the install goes once I receive it.

I got the DBALL3 from Toby and the install was very easy. I only connected the wires at the beginning of this thread and it's working as expected with the 3x lock button on the factory keyfob. This is a great deal at only 70 dollars to have a remote start and it's an easy install.

Thank you so much to slimjimtel for starting this thread and documenting the install. Also, thanks to Toby for offering a pre-flashed DBALL3 at a reasonable price.

I haven't tested it to find the limit, but it seems acceptable. I started it from maybe 100 feet away with no problem. I'm only using the factory keyfob.

It has the same range as the factory remote.

He was as of a May this year when I bought mine. The address I used was toby@broadfieldcustoms.com. I hope he still is because I was planning on buying a second one from him for a Toyota.

That's one of the addresses I have sent an email to. I just tried again. I hope I can get one of these.

I messaged Toby and he said he stopped using the previously shared email address. He said to email him at toby.broadfield@gmail.com.

Hello all,

I was wondering if there is a newer model of the Viper VSM250 add-on to the DBall2 module for remote start. As I understand it from the thread, the VSM250 is the GPS version but being that this thread is old, I am wondering if there is something newer and with more/better features. Thank you.

Can anyone answer this question for me? Looking over the one I pulled from my 2007. It's a DB3, programed with TL3 V4.02

I just ordered and paid for a 2014 LS460, Will this DB3 work on the 2014, need to be re-programmed or what do I need for remote start on this car ?

Remote start is a mandatory thing for me, and I really don't want an extra FOB on my keychain...

Edit: Looking over the docs, I guess it will work on the 2014, It shows the application on the TL3 programming to be for a 2007 through 2014. Is wiring any different ?

It shows application guide with TL3 for 2007 through 2014

EDIT 2/20/2020: Talked to an installer, got the documents for the install on a 2014 LS460, the wires match exactly in the first post, so this confirms this will work on a 2014 !

Now it needs to get a little warmer so I can install it.

Hi all,

If any experts are here, I need to figure out an issue.

So tonight, I connected it my 2014, Red T-taps and soldered on the large black one. I put the battery back on the car, then plug in the DB3. It lights up green. It was never red, so hitting the start button 3X to program it, didn't do anything.

When I hit X3 lock on my remote, nothing happens. If I go back in the car, it still is green.

IS there a way to reset this device so I can program it for my car, or do I need to re-flash it to get it back ?
