07 460L Trunk not working

My trunk won't open from the inside or with the key fob? The only way to open the trunk is by detaching the key and using it manually. What gives

Check the valet lock switch inside the glove compartment. That feature allows you to lock the trunk by locking the glove compartment with the mechanical key and leaving the electronic key for the valet.

I checked that first when my wife complained the trunk wasn't working. I figured she had turned it off or something. It just stopped working for no reason.
