Default How to unlock trunk with spare?

What's up I lost my main key on my 90 ls400. I got the spare to use out of 3 there's also a valet key. But I locked the trunk release from inside of the car. I can't unlock the little thing that you press to lock it. Opening the trunk from the actual trunk works. Should this work or is it like this on all cars? How do I unlock that button from the inside of the car withput the main key

unfortunately the only non-destructive way to unlock the lock switch on the dash is to have a new master key cut. the other way is to hack at the key cylinder itself from the back to disengage the lock.

you might be able to hotwire the wire that goes to the trunk popper.

The original post is a little confusing, but if I understand it correctly -
You used the second (master) key to open the trunk. Is that right?
If so, it should also unlock the "valet lockout" button that disables the trunk and fuel door poppers.
However, if it is another valet key, it will not unlock the "valet lockout".

Since it is a master key, it should unlock the "valet lockout" button, and therefore enable the gas door and trunk unlock switches.
Does the master key turn in the "valet lockout" button?
Does the button then pop out (towards the read of the car)?
Then, does either of the switches work?

Your master should definitely unlock the button like gene said. What is actually happening when you put the key in there and try to turn it?

well i tried before with this key and it didnt work. the key goes in fine but it doesnt turn. even before when i would unlock it it would be kind of hard to unlock and make it turn. maybe i should keep trying. thank you guys for letting em know that it should work. it didnt make sense to me why it would unlock the turn but not the button

Spray a little silicone in the lock.
