Default Door squeaks when opening and closing.

My driver and my driver side passenger (slightly) door squeaks when I open and close it. I know it has to do with the door checks. The black plastic thing that holds the door open 1/4 or 1/2 way. Anyone else have this problem? I don't want to try something that might not fix it like greasing it. I don't want a glob of grease on there and it still squeaks. Is there a way to adjust it?

Maybe you could try a silicone spray. I have also used armorall with some success on plastic and rubber moulding to reduce binding. Even if you only get temporary relief from the squeaking you will confirm the source of the problem.

I've seen something about trying that online.

Don't use WD-40, get some spray lithium grease.

Prestone used to have a spray silicone that worked wonders..in a yellow can but I can't find that stuff anymore locally or online..but there are other companies that make it...wd40 is a dust and dirt magnet..the silicone spray is the way to go. It also works wonder on window tracks..My old Acura TL windows would roll up and down slow..but that stuff made it close or open in no time flat!

I had lithium grease in my garage so I decided to try it. To my surprise there was residue of a light amount of grease on there already. Looks like the previous owner used it too. Put a thin amount on there and no more squeaks.

Thought i would ask about this. My drivers door in the last month makes a short pop sound when the door opens half way. Think it occurs twice either when you open the door or close it.

Its not a squeak sound. I tried silicone spray and white lithium no change. I checked the door hinge bolts too.

To me sounds like its coming from the door side thinking the door check.

Has anyone experienced this before or now?

Well i did a global search and found a comment about checking the bolt that attaches the hinge bracket on the body side. Said that has solved the issue if it becomes loose.

i checked mine it and loose by a fraction. But so far it did the trick. No popping sound. Will see how it goes for a week or so.
