Exclamation Driver door hinge problem.

Hello again Just last week my driver door would not open from the outside. I could open it from the inside though. I open the door panel to see that the metal rod that connects to the outside door hinge came off. I tried to put the metal rod back on but it did not seem to want to stay attach to the door hinge. Not sure if the plastic piece at the end of the metal rod is cracked or missing another piece to it and would cause it not to stay connected. Does anyone know how or where I could find the answer to fix this problem. very frustrating to have open my door from the inside using the passenger door
thanks

yea...this is a way too common problem with SC's....hit the search button above and look up SC door not opening or SC door handle broken.

There's like 1 or 2 threads a month about this.

Go to the dealership and buy a new $3 clip that goes on the end of that rod. And do not roll down your window or you might bend that rod.

I did notice that. When i tried to roll down my window, even with the slightest stress on the window, i would stop. I reopen my door panel and rebent the rod which wasn't bent to much/bad. I then zip tied away from the windows so i can roll it down. I'll have to give the dealer a call and see if they have the part. This is the right part number right, 69293-12040? I got it from the diy thread for broken handle.
thanks
