There has got to be a Club Lexus member with the electrical know how to create a button so we can watch what's behind us while cruising down the highway.
A custom car work shop should be able to get the trick done assuming its just a wire that is connected to the reverse gear that activates it. However would it also trigger parking assist constant beeping and the lines that auto park???

Thanks for this ! - Best Wishes, Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA
I know Im going to sound like an *** but why not just look in the mirror. The visual angle from your eyes to the mirror is less than the eyes to the NAV screen , unless you are remarkably short ( not likely). On a Lamborghini or some other mid engined car it makes sense on the LS it doesnt

I was thinking the same thing, but maybe if you sell party balloons and the rear window is blocked, this could come in handy!
Actually a couple years ago I met a guy who mounted a rearview camera on his Harley and had a screen mounted on his tank. It was mostly for show, but sometimes the mirrors vibrate so much a clear view from the camera would probably be helpful.
I remember many years ago going 100 mph on the autobahn on my Triumph and petrified to move to the left lane because MB's and Porsches were passing at 160+. The mirrors were vibrating so much I didn't trust them!
Cool find ^^^^^ I'm gonna try this But, the bad part about that is that you have to turn the car off and on before you can access anything else again. Therefore no music or any other gadgets can be accessed
I just tried to do it and it did not work for me. After ending the system check and going to the diagnostics menu, I don't have the camera check one and my lay out is a little different. Maybe it's because I don't have ML or they have the gen6 nav unit or different firmware etc.

Did the same thing on one of my bikes because the mirrors caused enough drag to make a difference between 1_0 and 1_8.
