Default valve spring replacement question

I bought the car used. It's an late 07 model (made) but classified at 2008. So I guess this falls into that VSR recall category. Anyhow, I check with Lexus owner and my car is has nothing listed under warranty recall. How can I tell if the previous owner/dealership had the recall done already?

I would check with your dealer and have them run a vehicle service history report for you. All you need to supply is the VIN...

I can see the service history report online (Lexus.com owner) but I dont' see anything that resemble "Valve Spring" or anything... For those who have done it, what do they call that service?

So when you had your VSR done, the dealer reported like this?

Actually, I just looked it up. This is what mine says...
Dealer Reported 12/15/2010 Len Stoler Lexus 18523 0201149 ALE REPL COMP SPRINGS & LASH ADJUSTERS FOR GS460,

I think it all depends on how service adviser records this. If you call the dealer I'm sure they'll be able to tell you.

Notice how my comment has GS460 and not LS460 ?!?!?
Again, i think it all depends how dealer records this and looks like my dealer is pretty sloppy.

Thanks..I just called Lexus of Austin and you were absolutely right. 11/08 was the day they did the valve spring recall.

I'm wondering if I'll get that $500

If you didn't own the car when the recall was done, I would say there is no way they are going to give you a $500 certificate. They may have already given one to the previous owner.

Not sloppy, mine says the same thing , they all use this info for the Lexus service input the gs460 was also part of this recall and they just use one phrase to cover all v8s

I got a letter today from Lexus giving me a $1500 certificate to buy or lease a new Lexus and a 6 Year 100,000 mile power train warranty from LFS. I would rather have my regular warranty upgraded as I have about 800 miles left on it. Anyway I can negotiate something?
