2-do ceramic brake needs new rotors or i can stick with my stock ones
3-my rotors has lost 1-2mm from the disk do i need to replace it

Ceramic is better, cleaner (less brake dust) and quieter! Stopping difference seems to be the same on my LWB.

You can use your stock rotors as most of us have kept!

Not sure if you need to get new rotors, but you can call a few different shops to include Lexus and ask to get a few different recommendations.

Last but not least, you can keep the stock set up with wheels up to 22".

1) I haven't tried, but I think ceramic is your best bet. More responsive? I think yes. Less noisy? I'm not sure but I don't think so.

2) After a lot of research and investigation, I believe you'll need new rotors and not any rotors. You'll need performance rotors that can take the ceramic pad strong bite.

3) If you're going with ceramic pads, yes you need to replace them or at least resurface them and see how long you can go with them.

4) I don't know, but I think they are somewhat different. It's just my uninformed guess.

Finally, you may want to have a look at this thread: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...-08-ls460.html

I am going to get my Akebono ProACT pads. I am a big fan of these high performance pads with dang near zero dust...dust is not dark either, so it is perfect for those folks running deep lips on their wheels..coat of "Wheel Wax" on the the wheels and dust rinses right off

Tire rack has front pads for $59 a set

Lexus sells a high friction pad made for the touring model, I have them on my car...someone should try them. My brakes are awesome, night and day over stock.

I don't know the part number, sorry but in the TSB below they state make sure you use the right pads
"LS 460L equipped w/19” Touring Package wheel option (high friction brake pad) —
No changes have been made to the brake pads. Apply grease to reduce
this condition."

I also see some guys changing their own pads but don't mention using anti-seize and the back of the pads or coper grease on the pad edges to stop squeaks...scroll to the bottom of this TSB and it shows you how to... even though the TSB relates to another problem.

You should do this front and rear.

I appreciate your immediate replies.
I did check with tirerack about Akebono they have only the front ones also same issue with what's Nash is getting in his ride only the front is available.
I heard that resurfacing the rotors for the American spec is not recommended.
Dear Gary, are those the part numbers of your pads 04465–0W110 & 04466–0W110
tnx

You should resurface the rotors as well. After time you will get a pulsation in the pedal from the rotor being out of round. Some import cars you have to replace the rotors when you do brakes. The Lexus LS you can resurface.

I will try and find the part number of my pads on the work order, I just had them changed.

Here are the high friction brakes pad part numbers that are on my work order
Front-04465-0W110
Rear-04466-0W010

I would check these pads against the stock pads to make sure they are the same...I'm not sure.

When I bought my car in 07 I had it special orderd..I knew the stock suspension and brakes were lacking so I upgraded them with the touring package. I was told by the salesmen that it had 6 piston calipers and ceramic pads....I later found out...and I'm still not 100% sure that they are stock calipers with just high friction pads. They do work MUCH better than stock.

When I ordered my car it was one of the first ones made so the Lexus web site had information that the dealer brochers did not have at the time and no one was sure. I have my car serviced at a large volume dealer and they have never seen at the time my wheel, tire, size and suspension combo. It later came stock on the 600's. Even today if you order the sport it will not come with 19" wheels. I would have traded this car in to get an all wheel drive model but they don't offer 19" wheels. Because of the touring pack I could not get other options like rear climate control.
