Had mine repaired there and it only lasted for two years. It's dead again and they only warranty it for a year.

Default Amp blown 2004 ls 430

I had my Amp repaired at United Raido I talked to the tech to ask what was wrong with the AMP and he said my Subwoofer channel was blowen and asked if I had the Subwoofer replaced and I said yes he said if you don’t have a six or higher ome Subwoofer in your car you will blow your car stereo AMP again I took my car to the stereo shop where I had my subwoofer replaced and they said they put a four ome Subwoofer in just FYI if you replace the Subwoofer you need a six or a eight ome Subwoofer or higher or your going to blow your Stereo AMP again

OK, looks like I've joined the dead ML amp club!

What are the typical systems of a DOA ML amp?

Mine was working fine, then just went quiet and nothing else. The display still works for all the other functions, but now when pressing a button there is no 'beep' feedback sound.

Is there a tutorial out there on removing the amp for send out for repair?

Thanks all.

if you do more investigation you will find United Radio and where to send your AMP they are making a mint also if you have replaced your subwoofer make sure it’s a 32 Ohm Subwoofer witch you can find on this website to take it the Amo is really easy just goto U-Tube I could write a book on this but just do your homework and search this website it has all your answers just remember

1 Send you Amp to United Raido for them to fix it is $475
2 make sure you have the original Subwoofer or get a 32 Ohm Subwoofer as I remember
3 you don’t have to take out the back seat to replace your Subwoofer it’s on this website I bet you anything you replaced your subwoofer and the Amp went out hope I helped you if you would like to talk in person look me up on Facebook JOHN Sitter IM ME ON messenger I can help you out good luck

My subwoofer is original - never replaced, so it's not that.

Found a removal tutorial:

Got my 2007 LS460L last week from a relative. The speaker started to have some chirping sound after I tried to connect bluetooth.
The navi/radio/audio/bluetooth just died afterward.
When I took out the amp I then realized the amp has been repaired once before.
Obviously its a design defect.. Will send to UR for repair.

Looks like I'll give these guys in CA a shot. Half the cost of UR.

Or these guys in San Diego: (edit) turns out these guys charge $900!)

Thanks, Arvid!
A few additional tips to share on removing the amp for repair:

The amp is located at the bottom right area of the trunk, requiring removal of a couple interior panels to access it. The instructions above get you most of the way there, although there is no need to remove the left side anchor points or the entire panels. Just release enough fasteners to pull the panel aside to access the amp.

One of the tricky parts is removal of these funky plug fasteners. They pull straight out, but require a special pair of pliers to remove them.

Pics below explain all of this.

To follow up on the repair - I used these guys above. Cost was $450 plus $20 return shipping. They did the repair and had it back to me in three days. They were also able to tell me that the failure was a dead short across the power supply and to replace the main amplifier fuse in the car as it will have been blow. Without that info I would have installed the repaired amp only to discover that it wouldn't power up.

For the fuse - there are about 6 fuses indicated as associated with the amp, located in 4 different fuse block locations. Pull them all until you find the one that is blown.
