Mark Levinson Amp Repair
Are these amp problems found in the 13 and up models also? The part # for mine, according to the Lexus catalog, is 86280-0W860. I know they changed them slightly for the 13 model year. I see they're more prevalent in the 07-12s. $4,536.50 MRSP, LOL. Discounted at the dealer is $3,381.95. Do they honestly think they're going to sell these new ones? I'd take the $750 repair from United Radio a couple times over before I spent that! Just needing to know if I have to set aside another grand or so if that happens.
just posting this so that if someone visits this thread in the future, they can hopefully use my experience to help them. i sent my amp to factory service repair as well. they received it today. i received an email a little while ago saying that they received it, and another one just now saying it is fixed. $340. i paid, and will hopefully have back in the next few days. i will post again once the amp is reconnected and (hopefully) all will be well.
sent mine to united radio, they said nothing was wrong with it. It's been working for the last week so hopefully it keeps working.
maybe they cleaned it or something and it works now. I had the b15c3 error code and it wouldn't work most of the time until night.
recommend united radio, great customer service and didn't charge me to ship it back. Quoted me 675 if there was something wrong with it.

why is there no definitive step by step repair on these failed amps? Nowhere on the internet is there any information, schematics except to send it to united radio. what are they replacing ? why is there an iron curtain of secrecy on the actual repair?
my amp ended up dying after sending it to united radio lol.
bought a new amp off ebay and moved on with my life after trying to fix this for over a year haha. Paid about 1,100 for a refurbished one, a new one cost like 3k.

Im there too, finding a refurb used one. Of course the aftermarket has caught up to the demand for these pieces of garbage charging high prices. There is a repairer outside of Toronto, Danmax, who can do the fix as they repair tons of OEM electronics. Im pursuing it as I am selling the car soon. otherwise I found a HQ Bluetooth speaker sufficed. But, these threads going back 10-15 years is pretty pointless, forum quicksand that you lose all sense of space and time.
ugh.
Sorry for the venting. Its just crazy that now you can have a hundred videos on some obtuse topic and not a second about what's going on with these ML amps.
Thanks for reading to the end of this!

LOL thats actually funny, I went through the bluetooth speaker phase too hahahahahaha.
Yeah, I was annoyed too having such a flaw like this being hard to fix. I brought my amp to a local place in my area too and they said nothing was wrong with it before i sent it to united radio. The price of luxury sometimes.
