HDD no sound...help
jlawr....thankyou for your suggestion...I will end up leaving them off...now that I have the head unit out...can someone tell me which wire I should be looking for to fix the sound on HDD? Wires are so short that I can barley see the back of the head unit.
i assume your car has mark levinson.
on the back of the radio, ALL plugs / jacks should be utilized. that include 2 jacks on driver side (one big one small), and on the passenger sides it's 3 harnesses at the top, and i believe 4 smaller more squarish ones at the bottom. is that the case?
i don't know which wire corresponds to hdd, but i would check these harnesses and make sure nothing is loose. then try to plug everything back in tight (you should hear click on all the harnesses and push the jacks all the way in). see if that helps?

rominl...thankyou for your reply...yes car has mark levinson with the entertainment package...There wasn't much room for me to see all the plugs but will try to look at them tomorrow...and post what i find out thankyou for your help.
np. the 2 jacks on the driver side are black, one big one small
on the passenger side upper level, the 3 bigger harnesses are all white. the bottom 4, from passenger side, should be blue (with black wire and white wire), another blue (the one without b/w), white, and blue (single pin)
someone else might be able to post more info too. where is the hdd located? i doubt it's with the radio unit. i believe it's on the upper level navigation unit? if so, there might be chances about something loose with the upper level too. but helps to debug this level first
all playing from my memory

I am surprised at some of the stories I hear about poor customer service from Lexus dealerships. Mine is so good it almost makes it hard to believe that they would treat you like that. I wish you the best
I8ABMR...reason for the poor customer service is because when they did the TSIB for vibrations car had 49550 miles....now it has over 50000 miles so the dealership would have to eat the labor cost.
rominl...you might be onto something, because navigation unit recognizes HDD is playing...(Title display and minutes show up on the screen) but no sound so It could be the wire loose in navigation. I will try to get in there this weekend. If anyone has any other suggestion let me know.
HMP07,
I just had my blown amp replaced. While waiting, the SA told me that after the amp was replaced, the radio wasn't working. I had to leave the car overnight for them to thoroughly diagnose problem. Anyway, they said that it was just a loose wire. Hopefully, that's all your problem is too.
