Default Lexus SRVC./TECHIES

ok fellas, got my boo back yesterday. she was in for an oil change... 9000 on the ODO. seatbelt assembly/retractor had to be replaced. wheels (not my decision but lexus). get the car back first thing i notice is one wheel is noticeably darker than the other three. told them not to touch the car so she was in need of a bath. i washed her and dried her this morning and noticed that there was touch up paint on my bumper and a few scratches. i called and found out that one of the techs scratched my bumper and tried to touch it up. mind you i was not informed of this at no time while they had the car. i found out on my own. the service rep told me that the Service Manager chewed his *** out for letting the car go before he had a chance to send it to a body shop. i was told to bring it back so they can make it right... "YEAH RIGHT", they'd have to pry this car out of my cold dead fingers before i take it back there. oh, the SB assembly is on back order so that wasn't done. my PSI was all over the place 43 here, 41 there etc. i wonder what else they F****D up that i haven't found yet. my experience with the GM, FM, SR and my sales guy and everybody on the floor is smooth as butter... but behind that door of doom where the techs are is another story. apologize for the long post, but check your cars fellas from front to back, bottom to top when you get them back. couldn't get a good pic of the bumper, there's to much sun out right now. BTW i was told by the srvc. rep that it was a pretty good scratch (WTF is a pretty good scratch) that took the paint off and it was deep.

the GM and I had a long talk and a few text messages later he completely understands that this is not acceptable (i'm sugar coating because vulgarity is not allowed here). i asked him if he would take his car back there after everything that has transpired. the techs are not careful and don't give a rats *** because it's not their car. what they fail to realize is that their actions are a reflection on the dealership. i am one of those customers that checks his car when he gets it back, i check my ODO from check in to make sure no one has been joyriding in my car (i've seen it happen) when i get it back. when you get back in your car you have to reset everything. i am blessed and fortunate to be able to have nice things and i don't take that for granted and the nice things i have... i like to keep them nice. to let someone ****up what you worked so hard for and worked even harder to keep it nice... rubs me the wrong way. i was asked to bring the car back and i told them to KMA, no chance. the GM is going to contact me on Monday after he calls in a favor (the 2nd one for me) and we'll take it from there.

That sux but at least they admitted the damage (albeit after the fact) which should make things easier to get it handled properly.

To be honest, I don't know what "right to my standards" would even be in this situation. A new bumper I guess would get close, but even then you have potential paint match issues, right?

Yeah this has happened to me at the dealership I used to buy my cars from. They would never admit to making the scratch, I hated going to that dealership only went there when I had no other choice. It truly makes me furious when you try to shove it under the rug and not tell me it makes it worse for them cause I'm even more pissed. So I feel your anger

yes they'll get close with the paint match but the way i feel about their resources i don't even want them to touch my car.

they admitted what happened but what has me pissed is that they did not tell me, i found it after i washed and dried her. it's crazy that they thought i wouldn't notice it, i look over every inch of that car inside and out when it's been at the dealer for a couple of days. i knew something wasn't right because they had my car for a week, dumbass (service manager) was trying to get the car to the body shop. i would have still noticed something wasn't right.

That really sucks, and I hope they do right by you to make it all good. It would only happen to someone who is so particular about their car. The other slobs, nothing would happen.

Lexus Of Rockville Centre sales people GM, FM, sales people, the owner are all great people. it's the techies that we trust with our cars that need to be hog tied and beaten... severely.

Hey Sydtoosic,

How did this turn out? Were they able to correct the issue to your satisfaction?
