FYI - I just got a 5-month-for-$20 promo in the mail from Sirius/XM.
I signed up with them after the freebie promo when I first bought the LS. It was $70/yr then. Then they wanted $160+ for the next year...no thanks.
The catch is that they want to 'automatically' renew you at the regular $12.95/mo rate at the end of the 5-month promo, but you can cancel before then and avoid the resign, which I'll probably do. Their regular rate is just too damn much. It doesn't cost them anymore to transmit to everyone as just one. I can see a reasonable profit, but $170/yr is ridiculous.
If you didn't get the offer you might call them and tell them you're as good as I am and want the same deal...might work.

Hmm, need to check into this.. I was in the same boat as you, and stupidity came in and renewed and paid the 160 for the one car.. I was considering cancelling this summer because i got a 2nd car, and wanted XM for that too... But its just too much...

The second car should be half price. I had XM in my LS and Sirius in my BMW, but they said they haven't merged their billing. Total BS. I now have two cars with XM and waiting for my trial to run out on my GX 460 to see what they're going to want for both vehicles.

I use the XM just for the NavTraffic.. worth every single penny, especially when it gives me the heads up that a sig-alert or other just happened up ahead and I drive around it. The real time overlay onto the Lexus navigation is very informative. The XM channels are nice for some of the areas I travel in, its always connected, although the quality of some if better than others. All in all I am a new XM client and believe its worth the money I pay for it.

Last fall I signed up for the $20 five month deal. I called to cancel the day before the 5 months were up. After about 5 minutes of questions, I still said I wanted to cancel and they offered me the five months for $20 deal again. I took it.
I have the expiration date on my calendar and will cancel just before it expires.
My wife drives the LS more than I do and she never turns the radio on. There is no way that I am going to pay $160 for the service for the few times that I drive the car.

Called today and found out they still offer the 20/5mo promo so I signed up. Also asked about the XM traffic and they gave it to me free for 3 months!

I got the 5 months for $19.99 deal recently, too. I had told them I didn't want to renew and the lady asked if I'd take 5 months for $19.99. I said I would, and it did not include any requirement to auto-bill or anything.
NOW ... they're billing me for something (with XM, it's hard to know what the **** they're doing). But I sent the bill back with a letter telling them if they can't get their accounting straight to just refund my money and cancel my subscription.
It's been over 2 weeks and I haven't heard a word ...

From over $7.50 to less than a buck.
Even worse over 9 years...in 2001 it was over $50 then plummeted to <$1

The huge contract with Howard Stern isn't helping their bottom line. I hope they stay around.
