I had it done twice. First installer struggled for more than 8 hours with just the front and I did not let him take the door panels off. Seconds installer was much better and did the front windows in less than 1 hour with out taken the panels off.
And why exactly would one have to remove the front door panels to tint the windows?
because the area close to the side mirrors the panel is quite significantly blocking the window.
my installer popped the panel, but didn't take it off, just the upper part to gain better access. as long as the shop is good, it's no problem. they had to do it coz' i put on huper optik and the film is thick and they had to pop the panel to correctly put it in and seal it
umm, good question. i don't know exactly how they popped just the top part. and it wasn't much, maybe just gave them like 1 or 1.5 inch clearance. sorry can't help much
