Default Opening/Closing Trunk with Remote

Hi, I just picked up 2007 LS460. I used the remote to open the trunk, but can't use it to close the trunk. Can only close by pressing the button on the trunk to close.
When i press close on the remote, it beeps, but does not do anything.

The remote only opens the trunk, it doesn't close it. just lower the trunk by hand most
of the way and the motor will close it the rest of the way.

Craig- are you suggesting to close it by hand 3/4 of the way, and let the motor do the rest versus pressing the button on the trunk for the motor to do it all by itself?

you can do that. by just pulling on the trunk lid you can also activate the closing mechanism. but to me i would just press the button on the trunk lid

either way there is no way to close the trunk using the remote

Yes, and I agree with Henry, but I just close it most of the way myself and let the motor close it the rest of the way. The remote doesn't close the trunk...

You can close the trunk with the remote.

Simply hold the remote in your hand, then place it against the top lid of the open trunk and keep pressing fiirmly down until the trunk closes.

you can actually stop the trunk by pushing the button. so you can start the opening process and than while its opening push the button and it will pause it.

the only use i find is if its raining out and i need to get to my car and throw something in, i can at least stop it fromt opening all the way so rain doesnt pour in.

one thing i hate is th design of the trunk allows for alot of water to drip in if you open trunk and there is water on top sitting. HATE THAT
