Hi,

I was wondering if someone could answer a question for me on my '03 ES300. Just recently, my trunk release started giving me problems. The trunk release button on my dash won't open the trunk, nor will my remote. I checked the trunk opener "disable" button in the glove compartment, but that wasn't the problem. The alarm "beeps" when I hit the trunk button, but the trunk won't open. I had to use the emergency cable in the ski pass-through to open the trunk. Later in the day, both the dash button and my remote were working fine, and opened the trunk (??).

I lubricated the trunk release mechanism, thinking that was the problem, but the trunk release still won't work about 50% of the time.

Any ideas??

The solenoid in the latch is probably going out.
