Default Window Tint question

my rims came in today and when they put them on I am going to have my windows done (Tinted ) I cant get to the dealer to see the tint, are there any pics floating around with cars with tint and what percentage. I am thinking 30 but just wanted to see some cars with 30, 40, 50.

Thanks

It depends on your taste, and the color of your interior. Also depends on the tint you choose. Metalized tint runs lighter then dye tint. If you have darker interiors it tends to darken the apperance oft he tint. I have heard that the metalized tint will intefer with your nav and radio makes since but im not sure. I have black interior and went with medium tint on all windows. I think it looks better when you match tint on all windows IMHO.

Hope this helps
Jason

50 probably won't be worth it because it will be almost nothing. 40 is better and 30 can be considered just a touch dark. You might think about 35. It is enough to see that there is someone in the car but still gives you good protection. I have seen many different cars with 35 and 40 and this is the way I am going when I get it done in the next couple of months.

Here are a couple of threads on the subject:

Do you still use the shades? With the black interior I thought it may be to dark inside the car.

the shades it's up to my passengers, if the sun is out there they might choose to close the shades. the interior color might make it look darker than the other two interior colors, but if they want dark, there you go

me in the front though with the 40% tint, i dont' feel dark at all. just right.

oh and also even with the tint, every time i park my car, i roll up all the rear shades. more protections on the leather won't hurt

Any opinions on ceramic versus metallic tint? The installer the Lexus dealer recommends uses both. My GS400 had metallic and it affected the antennae in the rear window but not an issue on the LS. Any opinions or knowledge would be great.

Thanks,

Ironhorse, look here
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=327479

for pix of mine with 35% sides and 20% rear. Not the greatest pictures, but maybe it will help. BTW, I have the Alabaster interior, which makes a difference.

As far as I know, my tint is just the usual dyed film.

Thanks,
i would definitely be cautious on metallic. not always the case, but it could affect your antenna and thus the nav. too risky imho
