I posted a thread a few weeks back regarding a rattle in the dash of my new LS 460. I debated for awhile whether to take it to the dealer or try to isolate the problem and fix it myself. Fortunately, my indecision paid off because a TSIB was issued for this problem in September(NV011-07). I'm now rattle free
Props to CL member clambros for posting the TSIB list.
By the way, I also had them reprogram the transmission to eliminate the hesitation from dead stop. This one's a no-brainer guys, so if you haven't done it yet, I highly recommend the fix (TC009-07).
Thanks for the post. I have a dash rattle and when Lexus told me about the TSB and the dash had to come out I was hesitant but now will get it looked at.
I also have a rattle in the headliner and there is a TSB out on that one to.
Will get both done at the same time.
Question, at what point do they incorporate the TSIB in the build of the car. Will the 2008's need the transmission TSIB? Do you have to ask for it at the dealer or will they come off of the production line with the TSIB installed?

In the bulletin they specify the production numbers when the change went into effect, thus not requiring the update.
and specifically on the tranny, i believe it's not an "issue". it's just an upgrade for whoever owners that want it.
It was an "issue". There was an intermittent hesitation when stepping on the gas pedal from a dead stop, with the Brake Hold not engaged. The TSIB does correct the problem. Talked to the lead tech at the dealership and found out that there is a fix for the binding spring sound sometimes heard when turning at very slow speeds like into a driveway.
that's how the tranny is designed, it puts the car in neutral when you are stopped. if you let go of the brakes and wait a bit (1 sec) before pressing on the gas, you won't have any hesitation, coz' the car is in D already. if you release the brakes and press on the gas immediately, you will feel the jerk, coz' the tranny hasn't put it in D yet.
so it's not an issue, that depends on your driving. the fix doesn't put the car in neutral anymore, which is just like other cars. i beleive the TSIB says only perform this fix if the owner complains

It was an issue with me and now it's not. If it wasn't an issue with owners, there wouldn't be a fix.
