I just ordered an LS460L. I'm not getting good info from my dealer. Does anybody know how long this really takes? The car will have to make it to Virginia, which is a long trip on a ship.

 

Where did he say it was coming from?

Sometimes they call other dealers in the area and it is faster. The only thing with that is you have to take what they have in stock.

If you special ordered, it could take a long time.

What color combo did you order?

Which dealership in VA???? It really depends on the Dealership ......... I take it you Put a deposit down and there building it to your specifications...... If so you will be looking at 60-90 days to come from Japan ..... sometimes longer.

If it doesn't have any special additions then You should have it in 3 or 4 weeks if the dealer is willing to DX out a unit on the lot for your color and option package ( as long as it's a Normal package built by Lexus!!!). If they don't have one on the lot you'll have to wait until one of there Unsold Allocation units arrive in order to trade out. We currently have 3 White ( Starfire Mica) and one Mercury Met on the lot to trade out............

Let me know the details and I'll see what is going on........

 

I ordered the Smoky Granite Mica (?) exterior and grey interior from Pohanka in Chantilly. I ordered every option except the executive seating package and the sport package. It is my understanding that is a special order that must come from Japan ...

That is what I got. Except I have the Black interior.

I was lucky enough to get it when they first came out.

Good Luck - Hope you can contain your excitement. It is very difficult, but worth it in the long run.

 

I special-ordered an LS 460 on Feb 8th. That put me in the April build. My dealer has notified me to expect delivery by May 20th (so that's a tad over 3 months).

 

Thanks ByeByeBMW ... I suspect we have something else in common, as my LS460L will replace my BMW 740iL

 

I special ordered mine on March 7th. The dealer told me it would be June or July for delivery.

 

Wow, that's my dealership and I just looked up the LS460L listing and have not seen your name yet ........... The order is in and I believe that I was right when I quoted the time at about 90 days............ I'll keep my eye out for your listing so that I can keep you up-dated as to a better delivery time. Hang in there ........ I know this is the hardest part of the whole deal ...... the wait!!!!! as soon as I get more information I'll post it.

 

The car that you describe (everything except Exec and Touring) is available in many states and stickers at about 86K. I went to Lexus.com and put in a Virginia zip code and interestingly enough it does not show that combination.

It may be worth asking the dealer if they could locate and swap a car from another state. Would be quicker than waiting for a special order.

 

Thanks for the info Ikey - perhaps my sales person is checking in other states and why I haven't heard back yet. He also mentioned the transition to the 2008 MY as coming up soon, and wasn't sure if my order would be for a 2007 or 2008.

Of course it figures they aren't sending models in that spec to Virginia!
