God I hate dealers
After not having my message returned, AGAIN, I called my salesman again asking about the ETA of my LS600hL. I was told that my car was not on the September allocation, but two other ones were. They seemed surprised, as my order predated theirs by months. So much for their vaunted waiting list, and my deposit. Are these cars being built one color at a time?
So here I am again, not knowing anything about the delivery date of the car. Simply amazing. It's times like this that make me wonder why I'm loyal to the brand.

God is on vacation this week, but i am taking his messages.
He said that it might be because they received the other folks SPECIFIED colors/options first, as opposed to yours.
but God also did mention that he will see what he can do about the other problem you are having.

the way they do it is to put your orders in and your order will be in line with the whole nation (or something like that).
so for example if you order a color that has more orders from other dealerships around the nation, your wait time will be longer. maybe the other two people they order a combo that's less requested so they get the car sooner

It's my understanding that for the time being, LS600hL's are being built in only 4 exterior colors (Starfire Pearl, Metallic Mercury, Smoky Granite, and one of the blacks) and 1 trim level.
Also, they're being allotted to dealers based on the number of LS460's they've sold.
My deposit was made on August 7, 2006 but I had to take what arrived.
Maybe in a year or so, they'll be more customizable.

When are they delivering the exclusive paint for the 600hL ?
I can't wait to see a Black Opal 600hL gets delivered & posted here, or better still, where I can see it in person.
So far, the only 600hL's I've seen in person are in Black Sapphire, Verdigris(2 of them), Smoky Granite & Obsidian(two).

My order was for Black Opal with Premium Package II.
As far as allocation per number of LS460s sold, I might be SOL. My dealership certainly isn't up there with the numbers of cars that JM Lexus sells, for example.
I put my deposit in at the LS460 launch party. Not that that means much, evidently.
It's not that I'm pissed that I'm not first down here (though I should have been) as much as I hate when they conveniently don't call you back if the answer to your question is bad news.

i agree about the response part, they should have done better to answer your question
black opal, it's my guess but i'd bet it's one of the most requested color for the 600hl coz' it's completely exclusive. if that's the case, it's very possible that you are low on the national order list.

I have never had to wait in line for a car at my dealer even if they had a waiting list like when the SC430 or the new IS first came out. I was able to get those cars right when they came out. When I went the other weekend, there was a 600hl available...silver color which was spoken for but they have asked me if I would like to take it that day. But, I opted for the swb because I didn't really need a long-wheel base for one and I didn't want to risk taking a 1st year model hybrid vehicle.

There was a problem with production on the executive package (issues with the leather dash). This delayed many of the executive packages from their proposed delivery allocations.
