Yup, very good...actually considering how successful the Celsior was, I imagine the LS 460 will do very well.

The LS was specifically designed for the Japanese, that love the simplicity and aesthetic design of L-Finesse.

As for the American market, I've heard many complain that the car is too subtle and "lacks soul." No matter what most magazines say, this car will sell in huge unprecedented numbers, subtle design or not.

amazing, i hope lexus is catching up. the sales of GS, IS, and SC haven't been up to the expectation from lexus since their brand launch in japan. definitely hope the LS is pushing things forward and catch up with their goal!

Flagship is the most important part of any luxury brand. Plus it helps that there isnt anything similar in Toyota range, unlike with IS and GS, where they have to compete with Japanese only Toyota Crown series.

and LS is actually mostly built for US market, as every other Lexus, as most of sales are from US.

Yes, that's why they build a LWB version of the new LS460 which isn't even offered in Japan, they get LWB only for the hybrid LS600hL.

The fleet manager said anticipation for the LS460 huge. He has had over 1000 people call him asking about puting deposits for the car. This is up in LA so it makes sense. He told me in is 20+ years in the car business, he has never seen anything like this.

I'm expecting the car in the U.S. will be an even bigger success! It is after all the largest luxury market in the world, and the LS 430 dominated...

glad to hear that. and i am pretty surprised (in a good way) about the overwhelming response on the new LS as well. i didn't recall anything similar with the GS and IS. the launch of those cars were good, but nothing like the LS. and from the waiting list and how cars are all pre-sold till december (at least), it's something.

don't forget that this is the most expensive lexus, not the least expensive one
