Default It's all downhill from here.

Today my car hit 40k miles/60k kms and will be 13 yrs old in Jan/26, the only known problem I've had so far is the Vally leak and a short failure on the clock that somehow came back to life and works fine now.

I was thinking about selling it but then some b*#ch tried to merge into my lane @ 30mph and we have no fault insurance here so usually every accident is 50/50 and your rates go up so I just pdr'd it the best that I could and may get it fixed sometime in the future, before and after pics. I can live with this...it's kinda like a black eye and we all know chicks dig that ****.

Anyway, here's hoping the **** doesn't drop outa it anytime soon.

Thanks, the only thing I wouldn't want to do is a starter because of the awd. I've looked at what I can see of it while doing a service and am pretty sure there will be blood loss.

It is not fun. I have done exactly 1 and do not feel like doing it again even with a lift, whole subframe has to come off

Nice ride man 👌😎.. from the looks of it, you did a pretty good job on masking the damage. That’s some low miles on your car too.

If I was ever going to sell my 07 LS 460, I would want a 13+ model in all black or a dark blue. Unfortunately they’re still very expensive especially ones with low mileage.

Sorry to hear about the damage. I was so p*ssed when someone put a deep scratch in the RR door of my 17 ES literally 2 weeks after I bought it back in May--still had the temp tags on it. One body shop tried to buff it out but burnt into the clear, so there was a 1" faded spot in the scratch as well. Didn't want paint work on it, but it drove me crazy. $900 later, I had to have the door sprayed, but they did an excellent job, and I figured with atomic silver, it would be almost impossible to perfectly match.

I love the LS, but all the $3k-4k each issues like the ABS actuator, starter, control arms, high pressure fuel pump, now timing chain tensioner issues popping up on some, etc. sometimes make me not want to even look at the car for fear of "what's next?" I've about quit working on cars because something always goes wrong or takes much longer than anticipated; plus if I break something on this car while working on it, that'll cost me $$$$. Easier to just pay someone and be done with it; let them have the liability if their repair fails within a year. You have really low miles on yours. My 14 has almost 94k; bought in March of last year with 84k. At least you save money by doing your own work.

I like black cars too, had a black on black tuck n roll interior on a 65 impala ss that was a really nice car with a 396 solid lifter engine that was semi built but couldn't ever get that coil spring rear end to stop hopping. The 460's black interior makes it almost too hard to see anything on the floor without a flashlight.

I would never repair anything unless it was getting serious, on my ls400 the right front strut bar( similar to a lower forward c arm) bushing was so worn and loose before I changed it that I could drive by a low window in a strip mall and nail the brakes and the wheel would move forward about 2 inches and bang.
A car doesn't have to be at 100% to be functional.

I’ll post more on the subject in its own thread, but a shop attempting to fix this could be a lot worse than the damage.

My car is still in limbo after a routine hail damage repair. The headliner, seals, and all doors and many exterior panels were disassembled. 75% of it was done wrong and it will never be on par with how Lexus made it from the factory. The paint match is subpar. It looks like a 5th owner car now with a crash history. Also just 40k miles.

We’re finally transferring it to another shop, but just wanted to chime in. I’d take that minor cosmetic damage any day over half-assed reassembly.

Every time I see a car with hail damage it just makes me sad. Being in Southern Calif for many years i never saw one, never heard of it, didn't even know what it was. Not until I was in the service around 1980, in Wichita. I was with my room mate, who was from the midwest, and we happened to see a car with hundreds of little dents and dings all over the top of it. I said something brilliant like, what kind of moron did it take to trash a car's body like that? Dude just got a disgusted look on his face and said "That's hail damage."
I know they make so-called "hail proof" car covers, if i still lived in Wichita I'd carry one in the trunk, for always -
