Default Help me please

I’m replacing the valve gaskets and I’ve dropped one of the half moons down inside the back oil gallery’s is there any way to get it out without having to pull the whole motor out and then apart?

I would try one of these tools, below. If you can’t fish it out, remove the oil and pour it down the gallery the item fell down and hope it falls into the oil pan, which you will have to remove to see if the item fell down there. Some engines have a splash pan inside the oil pan, so you may have to remove that also.

Default Thanks

Okay cheers for the response. I’ve got a flexible magnet 🧲 retriever problem is the Half Moon is aluminium so not magnetic! Or I would have got it out it was right there as I tried to hook it out with a pice of wire and then slipped out of site and I could hear it hit the bottom somewhere deep inside the motor! 😫🥹

That’s a bummer. If a endoscope is available, maybe you can see where it landed.
