help! running rich!
Hey guys I have a 93. Gs300. The car is running really rich. I recently changed the headgasket and did valve stem seals and cleaned everything off really well had a top end gasket set. Wial changing the headgasket the vcv valve broke in half. One end of this valve goes too the intake and the other to the fuel pressure regulator. Anyway I'm poor so I got a few replacements out of the salvage yard. Of course I couldn't find a gs or supra (inposable) so a got a blue toyota valve off of a 95 es300 and 93 camery sedan wagon 2.2 from what I can tell diff colors are diffrent spring rates even though they all otherwise look identicle. Correct me if I'm wrong I just think . The one from the es the part nnumber matches. But couldn't read the last number on my broken one are they the same and would this be what's causing me to run rich. Btw timming is set at abot 15 degres that's is close as I could get it to 10 and the car is running ok but its running so rich I can slell gas out and in the car as well as in the oil.
That in turn gas in oil is making my oil thin out so much the car is just burning it smoking. White slightly gray. But smoke worse the longet b4 oil changes I'm changing oil like once every week and a half or so to try and prevent any damage.
Btw it is the exhaust that's smoking since it still smokes after a decent drive when I shut the car off I need help!
Sorry so long just making sure u know the details

Hey just letting everyone know I fuigured it out.
I did some researrch and found out the sc300 dosnt even have that valve.
And uses the same fuel pressure regulator. So I tried bypassing the valve all together
And so far its running great not rich at all. Problem solved
Thx for the help everyone
