Default Opening trunk with only Valet

Is there any way to open the trunk with just the valet key? I just purchased a 2004 without the smart access, and the only key I got was a Valet.

switch inside car is by hood opener
smart key access is possible if you purchase and program
very much worth the cost ( about 200 dollars)

I'm going Monday to get a master key. The inside switch does nothing and the valet key won't turn the switch. It also won't manually open the trunk either.

there is a button with a key slot by the switch. if the button is pushed in you need to put key in and turn , it will pop out and then trunk will open

Not sure if everyone else's valet key works differently, but mine won't physically go into the key slot by the trunk switch, or go into the trunk key hole either.

Yes that's why its called a valet key - so when you give your valet a key to go park and later retrieve your car, they can't get into the trunk or glove box or anything else that only the master key can open. So if your trunk button is pushed in and locked, only a master key will be able to open the button as well as the trunk itself. You're going to need a master key cut and programmed

edit - as a side note, if you are going to a dealer to get a master key cut, they will wnt to see your photo ID as well as the registration in your name before they will make you one (to protect you from a valet who has stolen your car and wanting to get a master key made :-) )

Thank you for the heads up, but they told me that about 5 times on the phone, lol. Really drove the point home.

Hi
When I brought my 430 it only came with valet key. I stupidly pressed the trunk cancel button and then sadly found out the valet key wont open it and couldn't open the trunk to access my belongings!
I desperately took it to a locksmith, he cut me just the key blade for cheap so I could open the trunk cancel lock.
The difference between the valet key blade and the master key blade is a groove down the side of the key. So a locksmith is able to produce a master key blade from the valet key blade, they just use the standard blank Toyota key blade with the groove down the side.
The key blade with the groove worked in the trunk release cancel, opens trunk, opens glovebox, and obviously still opens doors.
That is a cheaper option if you want access to your trunk (albeit you have to twist a key instead of push a button) without having to open drivers door and trunk flick the release switch every time
The expensive option is getting a brand new master key fob and getting dealer/locksmith to programme and set up remote access so you can just press a button
Cheers
