05 lexus ls430 lurching forward while putting in park
I was having a bad 2-1 downshift and got my ecu replaced, after getting my ecu replace the downshift went away but I noticed that when I put my car into park and then let go of the brake the car starts to move forward a bit and you can feel it move. The car never did this before until I started to have the downshift issue and getting it fixed.
was just wondering can it damage anything? Do I need to change my trans fluid? Is it normal?
Any advice would help, please and thank you..
All autos move a little after you put it in Park and then take your foot off the brake, unless you applied the Parking brake.
Park locks up the gearbox, but there is still driveline movement in the diff and part of the gearbox.
Mine will move a couple of inches if parked on a slight slope.
I had the same on my 2 Acura RLs, Merc S-Class, and on many rentals over the years.
