The issue I'm having is when I turn my vehicle to ACC, the audio will play for just around half a second and then suddenly pop. After the speakers pop, the vehicle no longer plays sound. When turning the car on without staying on ACC, the car just plays no audio at all. The navigation sound works, and it beeps with Lexus park assist. The speakers are working and running the hidden test menu shows that the Amplifier is fine. The Head unit showed NCON for a second and then, when I checked the fuses, the Head Unit doesn't show up win the menu at all. Is it in a "stolen" mode? Is there a reset for this? Unplugging the unit and plugging it back in just makes the cassette deck whine as if it's turning on but, it won't work in the nav screen. I bought the car with the Nav, Touch screen not working. For the first month of ownership, the radio controls worked, but I still had no sound. all fuses are okay. The grinding noise in the background are the folding mirror motors dying. This audio issue and the mirrors are the only thing wrong with the car. please help me fix this.
NCON meaning: "The device was previously present, but does not respond in diagnostic mode."
NCON actions:
1. Check power supply wire harness of the device.
2. Check the AVC−LAN of the device.
You should post the DTC screens too, maybe there is a code that can give more clues. As it stands, since it powers up briefly and then cuts out, I suspect the problem is one or more faulty capacitors in either the head unit or the amp.
How might I get to the dct screen? I'm at work right now but may be able to get the codes tonight. After I cleared the codes and history, the Head Unit disappeared off the list. I have a strong feeling it's not the amp as it plays audio from all other sources. Could just need a new Head unit? They're only 150 used at least.
Okay new update. Just got a new used head unit. It fixed some of my issues with the controls. Now it can control volume and accept tapes but still no audio.
I'm convinced if you buy these cars, just buy an amp. Don't mess around with the other components. If I get an amp and the problem still persist, I'm going to an audio shop and getting a 4 channel amp and an after market head unit installed.
Here's the new issues in the diag
Everything checked out as okay on diag, then when I restarted the car it says under audio hu "chek" Amp still says okay but it really doesn't sound okay lol Now for the LAN monitor! Even though audio hu says chek in diag, here in lan it says noerr. Clear codes and history, still the same. So I'm pretty sure the amp is bad. You can only replace like 3 things. The amp is the last thing I haven't touched.
