I own a 2004 LS 430. Thru testing I’ve determined that my Bluetooth is dead or dying. I remember seeing a link in this forum for a unit that replaced the stereo receiver and the CD loading section of the center console with the unit that had music inputs, a small screen, a USB and an AM/FM receiver. I believe as well as a new Bluetooth and the ability to stream music (as well as plug-in). I have been unable to find it with the exception of that Chinese unit that replaces the whole system including the nav screen which I’m not going to do. The best alternative seems to be the Grom Audio unit that supplies Bluetooth for the phone and music streaming. It usually installs in the glove box and has a wired mic that you install in a position of your choice. Your steering wheel audio controls also continue to work. I’m about to have this done because my Bluetooth won’t connect, or stay connected or drops continuously with my Google Pixel 3XL. By using an aftermarket Bluetooth that plugs into the cigarette lighter I was able to determine that it is the car’s Bluetooth and not the phone that is the issue. Anybody else remember this link or have similar experiences or suggestions.

You're describing what sounds like someone installing an aftermarket radio in place of the cd loader, not an add-on unit, e.g.
As mentioned, the bt45 is probably your most seamless option - takes about 15 minutes to install, is hidden in the dash, and gives you bluetooth and aux.
