I'm looking for a "bolt in" option for shock/strut replacement. I'm almost drunk enough to buy the teins off of race consulting agency for $737, anyone have a different option? Rockauto Sachs struts and kyb strut mounts run around $630 and I still have to disassemble and re assemble them.
Before I pull the trigger, any one have any input?

tein is a decently reputable company from Japan while BC is from Taiwan.
Majority of my research from lurking in the forums recommends tein COMFORT SPORT as #1. Unfortunantely they are no longer in production.
BC is your next best bet with tons of good reviews from members who have actually used them. So in a sense, they are tried and true.
The tein flex Z is a newly engineered coilover without much review.....
I tend to stay away from new products that havent been tested extensively crappy roads. If you get the tein flex z's please post pictures and a review of how they perform.
Why cheap out and then buy a second set of coilovers rather then buying a better set the first time? Save your money for a good set. Not gonna kill you to roll at stock height for a little longer.
For what it's worth the bc's were worth every penny to me.
They ride smooth, and the adjustable damping allows them to get surprisingly close to my stock ride if needed, which was great as the last set I dealt with when I had my old Audi were not adjustable and VERY firm. I have my set dialed in to around the midpoint now.
Installation was also pretty straightforward since they are loaded and ready to go.
I bought mine on black Friday so got them for a little less than the standard $995.
Im not buying them to lower my car. I do want to mess with it a little but I want the rear at stock height or very close, then the front needs to come down.

you are probably going to have more problems if you do that... your AFS will probably mess with you... your transmission braking assist will probably mess with you...
these cars are stuffed with all kinds of "leveling" sensors and equipment
but do follow up if you do end up doing what you planned on doing, it'd be interesting to see the result

Wouldn't that apply to everyone that has changed the ride height of their car?
theoretically, when people do change the height it changes equally (or pretty close) all around, since it's just the height that is changed, but when you leave the rear at stock height and drop the front i'm assuming it would trigger a thing or two, triggering the car into thinking it's going down the hill or something.
by no means i'm an expert, and i don't know what OP's production year car is, so i'm just speculating
i think one way to find out if it affects the AFS is to park the car on a level surface, turn the headlights on, mark the top line of the beams. then raise it off the ground about 2 inches in both front and rear, turn the headlights on and mark the top of the line. then drop the front only and see where/if the headlights would point to
who knows how it affects the transmission brake assist, i just know that on my car it varies with the angle of the hill and the speed i'm traveling at/severity of braking. so changing that angle is probably going to affect the response that will be had
Afs? Is that headlights? I haven't looked but I'd imagine the afs has working limits, and the headlight housing has leveling adjustments. Lots of mb s class cars came through the body shop I worked at and I remember the techs still having to relevel the headlights after front end collision repair.
I'm not talking raked, just wherl gaps that "make sense" visually.
Here is the screenshot from Techstream, there is definitely data from front and rear on the vehicle's level, and it did change when i rolled out of the garage onto my driveway that slopes away from the house.

I have BC-BRs at 12k Front / 10k Rear and it took some time to dial in the adjustments for the front
