Anybody in here running tein coilovers on their LS? Any feedback on the coils they make for the ufc20-21 would be great.

 

why would you even put coilovers on the LS?

 

Why wouldn't someone put coils on the LS? esp if I need it dropped. What would u suggest....

Ditto - there are plenty of LS folks in this forum with Teins. Many od us with springs/struts would switch if we had to do it all over again

 

I just got tein cs for my car.

The ride is still smooth even smoother. You can handle like your on rails and you can adjust the damper.

I would suggest these for anyone looking to lower their cars.

Only buy them if your buying rims and dropping your car.

I'm looking to get the Tein CS's but the website says you can only lower max 2.0 inches. I have 20" wheels right now and want the option of having the rear lowered so just the rim is at the fender.

Is this possible with the Tein. All I want to really know is that the Tein CS's can drop the car into the un-driveable realm.

Please let me know. Any feedback will be muchly appreciated.

I was going to go with Tein CS for my 98 LS, but it was a 6 week wait and couldn't justify the $1200.

I just installed Tanabe DF210 springs ($230 shipped) and KYB GR2 struts ($250 shipped) and new springs insulators (about $100, and highly recommended on high mileage LS's). I chose the DF210 because the spring rates are almost identical to the CS, and the KYB's are very close to stock.

I'm on day 2 with the set-up, and so far, so good. A little stiffer than stock (of course, my concept of stock is 150K worn out, boat-like suspension), but totally acceptable. Took mom for a ride, she didn't even know anything had changed.

Haven't ridden in a car with CS, but I can't imagine it is greatly different.

So for about $600, nice lowered ride. Will post pics soon.

I don't think the Tein's can go that low. Look into JIC if you want to go really low. Or even better, Universal Air suspension.

 

CS is more than greatly different in the way it handles and drives. It is much better for spirited driving but is very smooth without the jarring and bumps in the road. Truthfully if you can;t fathom spending 1200 on all new suspension an LS400 probably was not the best car for you. It needs to be maintained properly with bushing replacements and service in order to last. You spent half the price but got a ride that is not comparable in any good way to the teins ,sorry but they definitely are the way to go when replacing parts for maintenance or performance.
