Factory oem floor mats
I had the tiles and carpets cleaned at my home today, and I decided to give my LS430 mats to the guy to clean as well. Unfortunately, he cleaned them too well and they are now discolored. I ordered a new complete charcoal color set from my Local Lexus Dealership for very cheap money and it is arriving tomorrow. Does anyone know if the replacement mats are the same quality as the original ones that came from the factory when new? Has anyone replaced their mats with OEM mats? Thanks all.
Are you talking about the replaceable floor mats or the original carpets? The replaceable floor mats (sold as a set of 4) have been degraded. They are not as thick and the border stitching is thinner. Unfortunate and disgusting. I keep cleaning the last set of mats not wanting to put in the newer set I purchased a few years ago. The newer mats are not horrible, just not the same luxury as the original OEM mats.

I'm getting the feeling that the replacements that Lexus is now selling although labeled OEM parts, have been downgraded to a cheaper quality. That being said.....I'm quite disappointed and annoyed with myself with ruining my originals by having them cleaned. Now I'll be getting cheap replacements and I'll be aware they are cheap because of what I had. Oh well......I assume there is no way to get the original quality from anyone is there?
I purchased Lexus factory mats from Lexus. I don't want cheap inferior mats in my car. Sorry, but the Lexus mats have gone down in quality. They will still look nice, but just not as good as they used to be.

i bought a set from someone that was selling their car. they had purchased the mats (look like from Toyota/Lexus) & never used them. it had what looked like an OE sticker on the box. where they look good, they are definitely not as thick. i have to take a look, but i don't think they have the heel pad on the driver's mat. paid for the mats, but they are just sitting in my trunk. i cant come to replace my originals with something not as thick. might just sell them. still on the fence.
The answer is yes.
Remember a couple of years ago, charcoal original mats were online everywhere for $15 to $19, and people were saying is this real? And it turned out to be true? I ended up with 2 sets of charcoal OE mats at that price, and used 1, they are in the car today with one set in the basement, and tossed my worn ivory ones that came with the used car. Who knows what really happened, it was as if a database triggered the mats to be that cheap everywhere, no matter what etailer you went to. I actually ordered 5 sets but only got 2 lol and due to the error they were free. I was thinking at the time I'd rather get 5 for $75 as opposed to 2 for $0. Hoarders R us....maybe the pricing was correct and it was NOS, not really sure. There are threads on the forum related to the charcoal OE $15 mats.
p.s. when I got my BMW new they gave me 2 sets of mats, winter and summer for free. The winters are made by Weathertech and poorly designed, not for a manual as they always get caught. The summers are cheaply made, not as good as my Nissan's or the LS430's. Odd miss for BMW.

I was able to clean up my front two mats so that the passenger looks great and the drivers side is much better but still worn. I’m a fanatic and hate cheap anything. I’ll pass by my friendly Lexus parts guy today and put the drivers mat side by side to the new replacement. I’ll make my decision then. The set is $64.
Does the real authentic original factory driver’s side mat have a heal pad? I purchased my car 10 years ago and it has the heel pad. I’m not even positive since I’m not the original owner If my mats are original or have been replaced before. They seem pretty heavy.
I bought a new set from Bell Lexus and they are NOT the same quality as original OEM. I just needed the rears and I found the color to be off and the overall plushness was not equal to the existing OEMs I had up front. They are not bad by any means, just not the same quality though.
Thought I'd offer what I know about floor mats. I have used original factory OEM mats since I purchased the car as a CPO in 2007 with 21,000 miles. I purchased new new OEM mats P/N PT548-50030-14 in July 2010 (the -14 is the number for taupe color). But I continued to use the original OEM mats until I finally replaced them in September 2013. By the time I was ready for new mats it was Aug 2015. When I purchased those (ordered from my Lexus dealer) I found that they had been discontinued and replaced by P/N PT 548-50030-14.
I have attached photos of the two mats. The original mats are so much superior in quality that it is unbelievable. As the photos show, the two mats have the same external dimensions and pattern. However, the replacement mats have a small sewn boarder and the who mat is thin and flimsy. You can see when it is folded over to show the bottom how flimsy it is. It just lays there after being folded. The older mat has a thick backing with a lot of nubs to prevent it from moving. It is difficult to fold over to take a photo of. You can see the compared thickness in one of the photos. As you can see, the replacement mats are still in their original bag, as I just can't force myself to put such an inferior mat in my near pristine car.
This dumbing down of the mats was not necessary and not appreciated, in my opinion.
