Default 2004 LS 430 front end noise

I have a 2004 LS 430 With SPORT suspension that has 64,500 miles. I have owned it since 9,000 miles and it has been serviced on time or earlier. I just changed the front and rear shocks 2,000 miles ago. I seem to hear a noise from the front end when I go over a sharp bump. Just wanted to get any input as to what it could be or maybe it's just my imagination. Thanks for your help!

Could be lower control arm bushings, if a clunk or a bit of chatter on a few repetitive bumps?

I know with my car it turned out to be the OE shims missing on the front brake pads. Hit a bump and there would be a metallic sounding thud. Not there if bump hit and brakes applied was the clue. The selling dealership replaced the front brakes with Lexus OE. That's the only time the shims are required, they are built in on most aftermarket.

I didn't know what it was initially and the indie took several laps around their shop listening for it, and then extensively looked around with the vehicle on a lift. Over the phone without seeing the car, they said bet it's sway bar end links, but it was not.

Way too many variables to get an accurate diagnosis for your front end noise. My best suggestion for you would be to find a trust worthy Independent mechanic to give your front end a thorough inspection up on a lift. You should be looking for an independent mechanic regardless.....going to a dealer can be cost prohibitive. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

I had a clunk noise when I ran over a bump or hit a pothole. This thread has pictures and what I did to solve it.

Front upper control arm bushings? That's what my front end noise turned out to be.
