Default LS 430 brake noise

Anyone had any trouble with the LS 430 '03 brakes making grinding noise? I havd had pads and rotors replaced twice. The second time there was supposed to be an upgrade. Same problem now. When the brakes get a little warm they start making a grinding noise and squeel real loud when coming to a stop.

Yes. I have had just about all I can stand from my LS430's brakes. I have had the rumbling noise that you speak of, as well as way too much squealing. Last time, I had to take it back to the dealer 3 times before they got it fixed right. Now, it's happening again, and it is currently at the dealer for the second attempt. My brakes are also too mushy and soft despite twice bleeding the brake system.

Hi Drink300,

Sounds just like mine. I have an '03. Since they had a upgrade already, they must not have got it right yet. Wonder how many others have the same problem?

Let me know how you turn out this time. I'm about to take mine back for the fourth time. Seems like they could fix this problem.

Mushy brakes could be a case of faulty valve within the ABS actuator.
If repeated bleeding does not solve it have them check the callipers first for sticking pins and if not then have them take a look at this article.

don't take no for an answer. the brakes are the most important safety component on the car. given yours is brand new, there is no reason you should have to live with a spongy pedal.

The brakes on my 2001 Ultra do the same thing. Just started intermittent sqealing, noticed it sitting in a traffic jam the other day. A while back i noticed the grinding noise. Nasty sound like the ABS is grabbing and the pads are getting shredded out of the calipers. Dealer said they couldn't find anything wrong and couldn't replicate it. Doesn't surprise me, it only happens once in a while.

Replace the Lexus pads with Raybestos pads , But use the Lexus anti- vibration and shims.
I did this on my 96LS and I don't have any noise.
