How to grease telescope motor
There was a post on here a while where someone described down to a T how to simply just lubricate the telescoping screw/motor/etc, rather than take anything apart. Quick and easy fix. He/she said that you just remove the bottom cover and it's right there. I have lithium grease. The car is a garage queen but when left outside in the heat the wheel squeaks as it extends. Still works fine most of the time, which is why I want to get ahead of this. The poster did make it sound easy enough, to where a non DIYer like me could even do it.
If anyone has any info to shed light on this, please do so. From what I remember you just grease the exposed screw after you take the bottom cover off. Do I need a grease gun?
Thanks!
Assuming your problem is limited to the bushing becoming brittle a simple application of grease will help tremendously. You may not even have to take the bushing bracket or busing out. The bushings are cheap so if slathering a bit of grease on the threaded rod doesn't fix it take it a step further and buy the bushings.
What gives?
I want the whole thing lubricated but in the meantime I just want to disable it but I couldn't find the right fuse.
