not good enough for my LS!
I get gas in NJ, so full serve. If I don't need a full tank, I won't run to the Costco, I'll pay 7-10 cents more for Citgo (certain ones, we're barely below $3 today), since it's top tier.
I pulled into a station today, and the pumps looked like they were from the 1980's. I look to my right, and there are old pumps everywhere--I dunno if removed, or if spares? Whatever the case, I'm not getting fuel here. There was nobody else getting fuel, and the attendant was too busy talking on his cell, so I peeled out, gas door opened!
There was a report last week about lots of cars having problems and they tracked it to a Sunoco. So no other cars getting fuel, and old looking pumps, with junk ones laying around, it's like Sean Penn in Fast Times without shirt nor shoes, NO DICE!

I like Chevron, Shell, and BP. However, I do use Costco gas. All gasoline comes to a market in the same pipeline. The difference is the additives, and how it is taken care of transported, stored, and the station's storage and pump quality. Costco uses good additives, they sell so much fuel that the gas is always fresh, and they use good additives. Their gas is cheap, because they use fuel to get people to come to the store and spend money. They don't make much money on fuel
Yep, I had a good conversation with an Exxon dealer last year getting my PA state inspection. He of course plugged Exxon Mobil, then named all the other top tiers. He stated, if you get Wawa gasoline, that's unbranded. If you get BP, Exxon, Shell, these are branded and all get their own additives at the terminal. Because things had run amok I ended up getting an unbranded in the LS, had no choice. I wasn't gonna pay $3.11, and a no name was $2.89. Warehouse clubs are still $2.93, but not within my reach that day. At least I got fuel where it was busier and there wasn't junk just laying around in the parking lot...
lucky dogs, as of today we are paying (converted) US $ 4.72 / gal with further increases in the coming summer months.

I remember being in Sweden in 1997, and thinking holy cow the prices sure are high here when converted to US dollars. Norway was just as bad and they are an oil nation (but save for the future). Don't even have a clue today what the price may have been, but I bet over $3/gal converted. Yet unlocked bicycles all over Stockholm, and no turnstiles on the subway in Oslo. I thought man how different than the USA...
