wind noise solution
I've had wind noise coming from the driver side area for the past 5 years. I tried shin-etsu Grease but it didn't work. I've learned to live with it.
Today I used Gorilla Tape to reinforce some of the moldings and contact points where the door closes. It worked like a charm because the tape is strong and thick enough that it fills gaps nicely without interfering with the door closing. My cabin is dead silent now and no rubbing/creaking noises of any kind. If your cabin has wind noise, try it, it really works

Its made a huge difference. I used to think the window was loose for the longest time .... and I was wrong.
I can show you what I did but it probably wont help you much, unless your car is leaking from the same locations ..... give me a few days and I will put them up.

here are the pictures of where I put the Gorilla tape. It's on the inside of the doors and gives extra strength to the thin plastic strips that are visible from the outside of the car. The tape is only visible when the door is open and since its black its quite hidden. the other place I used it is in the areas where the rubber moldings seal against the cars frame. This is where my air leak was coming from and my car is dead silent from the wind noise. There was an odd squeak when driving on bumpy roads.and.its gone too. Huge improvement because the car is noise free !

The only time I get wind noise, is when I lower my window...then back up: noise.
Then if I lower window a smidge, noise gone. Then after a minute or two I can put the window back up and noise gone.
It's very odd.

We had a new 1998 GMC Jimmy that did this. The first week we owned it, I had to roll the window up and then move it down just a bit. If I went to far I had to repeat. I had it in 4-5 times. They could not fix it. We got completely rolled on that vehicle. Sold it about 1 year after buying it.
